Boating

Boating is another favourite past-time when we are in Taupo. The kids had their hearts set both on catching some trout for dinner, and maybe going water skiing or in the dingy. But with only about 18-20 degrees in the water, swimming was not really on the cards this time.

The weather was rather windy most days so we didn't get out on the lake as much as we would have wanted. Even this day it was a bit choppy (at least for me...) on the way out, but once we turned off the engines and started fishing it was beautiful.

We decided to deploy the drone for a bit of birds eye view of the boat:

The breeze made it a bit tricky to land the drone again. It actually got caught on the fishing line when Nathan tried to get it back into the boat. Lucky we caught it right on time before it plunged into the water..!

Time for some snack, coffee and bacon & egg pie!

We didn't catch any fish though. There was a few on the lines, and the excitement was there, but they unfortunately got off again.
