Double birthday dinner

We stayed up in Auckland over the first few days over the weekend, to hang out with Nathan's sister Nikki and her family. On the Saturday night we went out for an adult-only dinner at a lovely restaurant situated at the Simunovich Olive Estate in the Bombay Hills.

It's great now when the kids are old enough so they can stay home alone, and cook their own dinner..! They made their own pizzas, while us grown-ups enjoyed some fine dining in the olive grove. Of course they served up their own extra virgin olive oil with the bread:

Kieran had turned 50 (!) earlier in the week, and Nikki had her birthday the following day, so it was a double birthday celebration!

We started our dinner with some oysters and champagne!

Then we enjoyed a three-course menu, paired with wines selected by their in-house sommelier:

It was such a great night!
